Survey in progress at the Wagon Box Fight between Sheridan and Buffalo,
Wyoming. All artifacts found during the survey were mapped in place
so their spatial context could be examined in terms of the entire
battlefield.

Base of the blacksmith's forge recorded at Seminoe's Trading Post
on the Oregon Trail near Devil's Gate in 2001. Large quantities of
ingot iron and other scrap metal were found around this hearth.

Similar varieties of pipes have been recovered from other historic
sites in Wyoming from the same time period, including Rechard's Trading
Post near Casper and Fort Laramie National Historic Site near Torrington.
