Wyoming Archaeology Awareness Month Proclamation Signing Ceremony
The State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) invites the public to the Wyoming State Capitol for the annual signing of the Wyoming Archaeology Awareness Month Proclamation.
During the ceremony, SHPO leadership will share brief remarks on the importance of this month and present Governor Mark Gordon with a framed copy of the 2026 Wyoming Archaeology Month poster before the official signing.

2026 Annual WAAM Lecture: Featuring Dr. Steven Kuhn
The Wyoming State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) and the George C. Frison Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology are proud to co-host the annual Wyoming Archaeology Awareness Month (WAAM) Lecture at the University of Wyoming.
This year’s guest speaker is Dr. Steven Kuhn from the University of Arizona. Dr. Kuhn’s primary research interests center on Paleolithic sites across Serbia, Morocco, China, and the Levant.
