State Historic Preservation Plan

State Historic Preservation Plan

The Wyoming State Historic Preservation Office is beginning their preparations to revise and update the 2016 - 2026 Historic Preservation Plan (HPP). This statewide plan will guide the actions and set the priorities, challenges, and goals for historic preservation activities in Wyoming through 2037. This revision will be informed by our preservation partners, stakeholders, and the general public. The success of the statewide plan will be dependent upon input from our partners and their participation in this process. You can participate in a variety of ways:

  • Participate in our "Initial Statewide Historic Preservation Survey"
  • Upload photographs of historic places and spaces that are special to you and your community.
    • These photographs may be featured in the new statewide plan, so include a thorough description and give credit to the photographer!
    • Link to the photo upload form.
  • Attend one of our public events (virtually or in person!) As these meetings are scheduled, we will provide the dates and the links for virtual events on this webpage.

You can download our previous statewide plan to familiarize yourself with the types of information that is normally included in these statewide plans. Additionally, if you would like to know more about the National Park Service guidelines as it relates to historic preservation planning, please visit this link.
